Announcing Arctic Adventure to Lapland, Our Newest Trip!

Circular Formation of Northern Lights in Finland by Ralph Velasco

The aurora borealis, or Northern Lights, as seen in Lapland, Finland.

I’m very excited to announce Arctic Adventure to Lapland, our newest trip for 2016.  This is a part of the world that most people never have the pleasure of visiting, and it’s probably because they have a big misconception about what they’ll find when they arrive.

When I’m putting together our trips, I always look for variety, and by that I mean not only a variety of photo opportunities that we can seek out and capture, but also local cuisine that’s unique, interesting culture, outgoing and friendly people whom we can meet in their homes and interact with on a regular basis, fun and unusual things to do in each location, and more.

Needless to say, Lapland provided all of these criteria and more, so this is going to be a great trip.

Photographer Shooting the Aurora Borealis at Night - Lapland, Finland by Ralph Velasco

Photographer shooting the Aurora Borealis at night in Lapland.

Participants will fly roundtrip in and out Stockholm (airport code ARN, flight not included) and spend ample time exploring much of what this highly-rated capital city has to offer.  Next we’ll fly (roundtrip flight is included) roundtrip from Stockholm to Luleå, Sweden, where we’ll be transported in private vehicles up to Swedish and Finnish Lapland.

Finally we’ll get back to the big city as we return to Stockholm.  Those participants interested in spending more time exploring this region before or after the tour can make arrangements directly with our local tour operator who can help with details, please just ask.

We’ve got lots of great experiences planned, including searching for and photographing the Northern Lights (aurora borealis), dog sledding, ice fishing, an introduction to the sauna culture of this region, great food (including a foodie tour) and so much more.

March 19 – 27, 2016

$5,799 per person in double occupancy*

* A single supplement of $699 applies to those wishing to have their own room throughout the trip (availability is strictly limited).  This price based on current airfares for included internal flights roundtrip between Stockholm and Luella, but price could be adjusted should airfares rise or fall between now and when they are confirmed, however, this is unlikely.
